Piano Music from Mozart to Rachmaninov

This course presents a survey of some of the most popular and significant piano music of the classical and romantic eras.

Classes feature discussion and performances of pieces including Mozart’s ntasy in C Minor; Beethoven’s Moonlight Sonata; Chopin’s mazurkas, preludes, and ballades; Schumann’s Carnival; and examples of the virtuoso styles of Liszt and Rachmaninoff. This course is an ideal opportunity to gain an enriched understanding of piano music. Music literacy is not required.
